Scott and Craig become masters

Last year we were sad to see our Master Technician Joseph Hyslop retire after working at Walkingshaw for 38 years. It takes around 7 years of training and experience to qualify as a Volkswagen Master Technician – similar to the length of time taken to become a doctor – and that requires a great deal of commitment.

We’re pleased to announce that two of our technicians recently succeeded in qualifying after a rigorous 2-day practical and written examination at the Volkswagen Head office in Milton Keynes.

Scott Lankester, from Little Broughton, joined us in 2012 and was already a qualified and experienced vehicle technician and has continued to study and work towards becoming a Master Technician ever since. Craig Durham from Seaton, also joined us a trained technician in 2011.

Scott and Craig spent over 80 days of training and assessment at the Volkswagen Head office on top of many hours of computer-based e-learning to achieve the qualification. and we’ve been delighted to support both gentlemen through all their time and effort.
